May 19European Fashion DayEuropeEuropean Fashion Council
Over the past 19 years since the founding of the European Fashion Council (EFC), the organization has actively initiated and developed major European platforms, alliances, awards, and industry programs that strengthen cooperation between fashion, education, culture, crafts, technology, and sustainable development.

These initiatives include the founding of the European Fashion Universities Alliance (EFUA), Erasmus Plus Fashion, the European Craft Fashion Jewelers Awards (ECFJ Awards), the European AGRI ARTs Awards (EAA Awards), the European Fashion Talent Design Competition (EFTDC), and the European Diamant Fashion Talent (EUDFT). In addition, the EUDFT platform supports children aged 4 to 15 through collaboration with the European Preschool and School Alliance (EPSA) of kindergartens and schools focused on fashion, crafts, and the arts.

Furthermore, the EFC initiated the European Alliance of Professional Institutions for Cooperation between Industry and Education, while also proposing in the European Parliament the creation of a new funding program for industry-education projects named after Prof. John Atanasov — the world-renowned scientist of Bulgarian-French-Irish heritage and creator of the computer, whose invention became the foundation of every modern industry and educational system.

Moreover, the EFC introduced the concept of the European Design Authority (EDA) to protect the copyright of creators in the fashion and textile industries, as well as the European Fashion Week Zone — envisioned as a fashion equivalent of the Eurozone for the joint coordination and management of the European fashion industry.

In parallel, the organization established the EFC Investment Board to support the long-term and sustainable financing and development of the fashion sector. Additional initiatives include the European Fashion Fabric Awards (EFFA), the European EcoChic Design Awards (EECD Awards), and the European ReDress Design Award (ERD Awards).
